President Nowaczyk Selected as Top 50 Leader in Higher Education

FSU President Ronald Nowaczyk was recently recognized as a Top 50 Leader in Higher Education by the National Diversity & Leadership Conference.
The Top 50 Leaders in Education are innovators, strategists and pioneers in the dynamic sector of local and global Educators are pivotal for the growth and development of individuals and subsequently, the organizations for which their students work.
“I am deeply humbled by the recognition by the National Diversity & Leadership Conference,” said Nowaczyk. “As an educator and representative of Frostburg State University I am honored to continue FSU’s dedication to the development and growth of our students and campus community.”
Nowaczyk became the 15th president of FSU in 2016, bringing more than 40 years of education experience to his position. Nowaczyk began his tenure in Frostburg by listening to the challenges and opportunities ahead for FSU and Western Maryland and leading the University community in developing a comprehensive strategic plan, which is now being implemented. He has also worked to improve student success, strengthen the communication and governance process on campus and enhance outreach with communities in the Western Maryland region. As FSU’s president, he has continued the University’s long, successful commitment to community service and civic engagement.
Those recognized by the National Diversity & Leadership Conference have contributed to the growth of their students, organization, community, and are active in mentoring the next generation of professionals in the education sector.
