When Stephen Michael M’21 reached a crossroads and wanted to change his career, FSU’s Maryland Accelerates Residency Program built him a bridge to a new role as an elementary school teacher. The program builds on FSU’s Master of Arts in Teaching with the added benefits of a $30,000 annual living stipend and residency in a participating school.

NSF Grant Increases FSU’s Broadband Connectivity
The internet speed connection on the FSU campus will soon be more than three times faster, thanks to an $800,000 grant from the National Science Foundation. The award, which covers under-served areas, will increase the FSU campus internet broadband download capabilities from its current 3 gigabits/sec to 10 gigabits/sec.

The Maryland Accelerates Program provides a Master of Arts in Teaching (Elementary or Secondary) degree with a year-long teacher residency in partnership with Frederick, Garrett and Washington County public schools. Cordts P.E. Center Access and Information for Spring 2021
Beginning Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2021, the following activity areas in the Cordts Physical Education Center will be open for limited use. Each activity area has specific COVID-19 capacities and regulations in place for the safety of all users. Those regulations are listed under each activity area below.
