Internship Opportunities
Although internships are not required, they provide students with an invaluable opportunity to augment their academic study with a guided work experience in a professional environment.
In recent years, internship experiences have included service in local courts, police departments, the U.S. Congress, the Maryland General Assembly, and public interest lobbying groups. Many of our majors take advantage of the opportunity to receive up to 15 hours of upper-division credit for a valuable "hands on" learning experience. Internships also help make contacts in the professional world; in recent years several of our graduates have received job offers stemming from their internship placements.
