Vaccination Update

The Allegany County Health Department has just informed Frostburg State University that some initial vaccination appointments will begin being available the week of March 15, 2021. The initial, limited availability will be based on the state guidelines under phase 1B, which covers higher education employees.

These appointments, while not for the entire campus, are for employees — including student employees — and are based on the priorities from the employee vaccination interest survey sent last month. Some employees will begin receiving emails about signing up soon — watch for more information and updates.

When the state moves into later phases (currently phase 1C -- Maryland State COVID-19 Vaccine web site), we will keep the campus community posted on options that are available then.

Meanwhile, if you can qualify for a vaccine opportunity elsewhere, please take it. Allegany County residents can fill out the interest form at Allegany County Health Department web site, and Garrett residents can look for appointments or use the interest form at Garrett County Health Department web site. Other information is available at the State Health Department web site.
