Activities

One of the new activities for the 2024 STEM Summit was to challenge oneself on the FSU climbing wall in the Cordts PE Center gymnasium. We tentatively plan to schedule this again in summer 2025.

Dr. Phillip Allen, certified by the American Mountain Guide Association as a Climbing Wall instructor, will be leading this activity for the first 12 STEM Summit students who have a signed Parent/Guardian Release Form. These documents will be available at check-in Tuesday morning, June 17, in Cumberland Hall. Dr. Allen, who is a faculty member in the FSU Department of Geography, will have additional certified instructors there to assist him.

Safety equipment, including harnesses and helmets, will be provided for use during the activity. Those wanting to participate should pack comfortable shorts, a t-shirt and sneakers.
