Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program
VITA- a chance for students to help people in the community who need assistance with their tax returns. You'll get free IRS training and on-the-spot satisfaction from becoming a VITA volunteer.
Who needs my help?
- Those who have a limited income
- Other students
- Individuals with disabilities
- Non-English speaking persons
- Those who are elderly
You can qualify to volunteer if you:
- Can meet and deal with a variety of people,
- Have experience or can learn about preparing tax returns,
- Can perform general administrative functions,
- Take pride in complete and accurate work,
- Are willing to complete the IRS training program,
- Can spend several hours a week on VITA from February 1st through April 15th.
