Advanced Composition

We recommend taking your 300 level Advanced Composition class (ENGL 308) early in the program. This course is placed in the second or third semester of your progression with FSU. The APA formatting that you learn in this class will better prepare you to write your papers in the nursing program. This course cannot be taken through your community college.

  • Before you can enroll in NURS 401, you must have completed a three-credit nutrition class equivalent to our EXSS 200 (previously HEED 200).
  • Before you can enroll in NURS 402, you must have completed a three-credit statistics class equivalent to our MATH 109 (previously 209).

You will be enrolled in an online orientation class. The online orientation course will allow you time to get familiar with the RN-BSN Program, our Learning Management System, and Student Resources including technical support, library assistance, and advising processes.  There is no charge for this course. Completion of the six-week course is mandatory.
