Master of Science in Nursing: Psychiatric & Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)

Admission Requirements

Admission to the PMHNP program is competitive, and a limited number of seats are available. Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Active RN License: Unencumbered Registered Nursing license.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN): Degree from an accredited nursing program, including:
    • GPA of 3.0 or higher in the last 60 credit hours of coursework
    • Official transcripts from all undergraduate and graduate study, regardless of degree completion
  • Statistics Requirement: Successfully completed a 3-credit undergraduate statistics course with a minimum grade of "B".
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV): Current and up-to-date.
  • Personal Essay: Reflecting career objectives, understanding of the Nurse Practitioner role, and reasons for success in the program.
  • Professional Recommendations: Three letters from professional contacts.
  • Interview: Personal, face-to-face meeting with program faculty.
  • Background Checks: Criminal background check and child abuse clearance.
