Profession: Mechanical Engineer at NWACAD/PAX
Where are you currently working?
Beginning in mid-July, I will be working at Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division in Patuxent River, Maryland (NAWCAD/PAX), part of the larger Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) .
When did you know you wanted to be an engineer?
I knew I wanted to be an engineer since I was little. I decided on mechanical engineering after my first semester of college when I gained more information about the many disciplines.
Why did you choose the Mechanical Engineering program at Frostburg State University?
I grew up in the area and always wanted to go to Frostburg. When I found out about a collaborative program with the University of Maryland College Park I knew I didn’t need to look at any other school.
What is your favorite experience in the Mechanical Engineering program?
My best experience in the program was working for the Bobcat Manufacturing Center. Through this I gained experience, skills, and friends.
What advice do you have for students who are interested in or considering a career in Mechanical Engineering?
The advice I give to those who want to seek out a career in Mechanical Engineering is to come in with a good work ethic. The more effort you put into it the more rewarding it will be.
