How long have you worked at FSU?

30 years

What 3 words can you use to describe FSU?

Warm, lively, upbeat

List any professional or personal accomplishments we can celebrate with you.

I have been a full-time professor at FSU for the past 16 years. I have collaborated with Maryland Department of Education and received grants for eight years to run a Maryland Summer Center for Gifted and Talented Students. I was also presented with the  Distinguished Service Award by the Appalachian Session of the American Association of Physics Teachers. I love to proudly share my research experience in the field of High Energy Physics at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN, Geneva, Switzerland) with my students and the FSU community.

What is your favorite thing about working at Frostburg State University?

I love working with students. I love all the joy and challenges I have had during my teaching career at FSU for the past three decades.

What advice would you give to current students?

Enjoy every minute of your previous life and all the opportunities and challenges in your career.

What is a cause near and dear to your heart and why?

Physics/science education has been my passion and is a cause dear to my heart. I believe science is one of the most beautiful aspects of life. Science education can help college students appreciate life, appreciate the world around them, and find satisfaction in their curiosity, regardless of their background and future career paths.

What do you do for fun?

I love to dance Zumba (I am a certified Zumba instructor). And I love world literature.
