How long did you work at FSU?
18 years
What 3 words can you use to describe FSU?
Focused, Friendly, FUN
List any professional or personal accomplishments we can celebrate with you.
I went from working in housekeeping to the mail room. I was on the safety committee while I worked in housekeeping. I was given an employee of the month award when I worked in the mail room. My personal accomplishment was to retire when I was 59.
What do you do for fun or keeps you busy in retirement?
I have a summer place at the river, and I enjoy swimming, relaxing hiking trails daily.
What was your favorite thing about working at Frostburg State University?
It was the best adventure - every day was different, delivering mail and talking with all the staff in the different offices. Getting to know everyone was amazing, no matter the weather. And running into the students while delivering mail was the best part of my day.
Do you stay connected to other retirees and/or current faculty and staff?
YES! Once a month there is a retirement breakfast which is held at a local restaurant, and once a year FSU has a retirement luncheon. I meet with some of my close friends for dinner every once in a while too. Sometimes I love to send them a HAPPY FRIDAY text message.
What advice would you give to current students?
Stay focused, kind and love everyone. Follow your dreams and never give up, no matter how hard it gets.
