Why did you choose to attend Frostburg State University?
So, its an interesting story. I originally never even looked at FSU. I knew I wanted to play baseball and had some interest in a few institutions, however, no real commitment. Then, after a solid performance in Harford County, Md. for an unsigned Seniors Game, Head Coach Anthony Williams M'10 gave me a call at home, and I came up to see him two weeks later. Now, here we are.

What is your favorite memory as a student?
My favorite memory as a student was when we were playing on the baseball field during the solar eclipse of 2024. We had so many people watching on the library deck, from the Education and Health Sciences Center deck, and just all around the field. The sky's color was absolutely amazing to view while playing a game. Definitely a once in a lifetime feeling.
Which faculty and/or staff member has influenced you as a student?
During my time at FSU, I had the opportunity to connect with a large number of faculty and staff members. It would have to be Dr. Kiersten Bradley '15/M'17 (advisor). Dr. Bradley began as my advisor when I first stepped into the accounting program here at FSU. As the years moved along, Dr. Bradley informed me of a business scholarship that she thought would be something to apply for, and sure enough I received the PNC Presidential Merit Scholarship.
What advice would you give to a student currently studying your major?
The advice I would give to a student in Accounting or the MBA Programs would be to ask your teachers questions. Never be afraid to ask questions. Teachers can learn from our questions to enhance the class, and teachers can also see that you are thinking about the specific content. And, questions are the epicenter of learning. Therefore, never be afraid to ask questions and meet with your teachers in their office hours.
Tell us about a class or activity at FSU that has had a surprising effect on your life.
MGMT 405: Corporate Social Responsibility with Dr. Evan Offstein. This class reinforced my "giving" side. As in, the ability to give back following my success. This class provided a unique perspective as to what organizations and business leaders should do in response to their success. Ultimately, the class changed my perspective as to what my goals and aspirations are, which is why I created a scholarship.
What is a cause dear to your heart?
A cause that is dear to my heart is volunteering or giving. For example, assisting at the farmers market in Frostburg has always been fun. Additionally, participating in Storybook Holiday and Trunk or Treat has been a blast.
What do you do for fun?
During my free time, I love to read business books or self-help books to understand various perspectives to strengthen my "Why". Following that, I love to hang out with friends and family to ensure that life is not "so serious" all the time. Lastly, being able to help others and volunteer my assistance.
What three words can you use to describe FSU?
- Growth: Every aspect of my time at FSU involved growth. From beginning to end, I am not even the same person from when I started.
- Networking: The sheer amount of people I simply know and am able to talk to on a consistent basis is incredible. When I got here, I had the baseball team and that was it. Now I can barely walk through the Lane University Center without having 3-4 conversations and spending 30 minutes there.
- Opportunity: FSU provides such a unique perspective towards opportunity. What I am referring to is that, if you spend an ounce of effort on something at this institution, you can truly make it into an opportunity. I spent just a little bit of time and effort with SAAC, and it turned into my ability to be a vice president, and landed my PLC position. So, in all walks of life, but especially at FSU, you have an opportunity.
