How long have you worked at FSU?
I have been at FSU since March 2010.
What 3 words can you use to describe FSU?
Three words I would use to describe FSU are engaging, holistic and eye-opening.
List any professional or personal accomplishments we can celebrate with you.
I have been awarded numerous Leadership and Engagement recognition awards, with the most recent being Outstanding Student Organization Advisor, 2022.
What is your favorite thing about working at Frostburg State University?
My favorite thing about working at FSU is definitely working with the students, assisting them with reaching their academic and personal goals.
Is there a faculty and/or staff member that you consider a mentor? If so, who and why?
A mentor I had from day one of coming to FSU was Bernard "Bernie" Wynder '78/'84, Assistant Vice President for Student and Educational Services. Bernie was known as "Mr. Frostburg" and was engaged with the entire campus community. Through our conversation, Bernie instilled campus knowledge, wisdom and professionalism - a standard I hold myself to daily. Although Bernie is no longer physically here with us, his legacy will forever live on with those who knew and loved him and by his values we pass along to others.
What advice would you give to current students?
I would advise students to use all the resources available here at FSU. Also, never be ashamed or too shy to advocate for yourselves.
What is a cause near and dear to your heart and why?
A cause dear to my heart is pancreatic cancer awareness. Due to my mom passing away from this disease, it's important to recognize the signs and symptoms early in order to beat the diagnosis.
What do you do for fun?
When I'm not working, I enjoy visiting Deep Creek, working out and taking naps.
