July 28: Update from President Nowaczyk

Jul 28, 2021 8:15 AM

Good morning,

As we all prepare for the beginning of the fall semester next month, I have a few reminders to share:

Vaccination Mandate Deadline

All members of our campus community, including students, faculty, and staff, must upload proof of being vaccinated for COVID-19 or have applied for an exemption by AUGUST 1. Those not complying with the mandate, will not be allowed to return to campus. On August 2, we will begin contacting members of the campus community who have not uploaded their information. If you are out-of-compliance, watch for guidance from the appropriate office (Student Affairs for students and Human Resources for employees). Providing vaccination information or applying for an exemption is essential for the safety of our entire university community this fall.

Vaccination Clinic Today

It’s simple — the best strategy to protect yourself from COVID-19 is to be vaccinated. FSU is hosting another walk-in COVID-19 vaccination clinic on campus for any student or employee today from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Room 111 of the Lane University Center. The Moderna and Pfizer vaccine is available, including second doses for those who have already received the first dose (bring your vaccine card). The J&J vaccine will also be offered, if available. If you plan to get your first Moderna or Pfizer dose today, you will not be able to upload your proof of being vaccinated until after you receive your second dose. So please schedule your second shot as soon as possible. The clinic is a partnership with Martin’s Pharmacy.

Fall 2021

As we approach the fall semester, we will continue providing updates to the university community. Now is a good time for students and employees to begin checking your FSU email regularly and visiting FSU COVID website for the latest information and updates.

I hope everyone enjoys the remainder of the summer and continues to be safe.
