Program Details

The RN to BSN program consists of 32 nursing credits. Students are awarded 30 credits for an unencumbered US RN license. Up to 70 credits may transfer from a Maryland Community College and up to 90 credits from a four-year college or university. A minimum of 30 credits must be completed through Frostburg State University to earn a BSN. A total of 120 credits are required for graduation.

Advanced Composition

Take the 300-level Advanced Composition course (ENGL 308) early in your program. This course, taken in the second or third semester, teaches APA formatting for nursing papers and cannot be completed through a community college.

Orientation

Mandatory Online Orientation: Familiarize yourself with the RN-BSN program, LMS, and student resources, including library support, advising, and technical assistance. The six-week course is free and must be completed.

Student Identification Card

To receive an FSU ID, you must be enrolled in classes. Submit your picture only after registration via PeopleSoft/Paws.

  • Allow 10-15 business days for processing; unacceptable photos will require resubmission

Textbooks

Textbooks are listed on the FSU Bookstore website. The same textbook is used in all class sections.

Criminal Background

Some states require a criminal background check. Convictions may affect licensure. Check the licensing board in your intended state for details.
