Emerging Media Degree Highlights

  Your path is as unique as you are. If our professional focus options don’t spark your interest, we offer several minors that are sure to inspire. Choose a minor in African American Studies, Communication Studies, Creative Writing, Film Studies, Graphic Design, Journalism, Leadership Studies, Marketing, Public Relations, Social Media or Theatre. These complementary minors allow you to tailor your education to your interests and give you added career preparation that brings real value to your résumé.

•  Community interaction
  Our studio is where you’ll start gaining experience in front of the cameras or behind the scenes with FSU-TV3, Frostburg’s student-run, 24/7 educational channel available on campus and in homes around the Frostburg area. You can also explore the world of radio and create your own show on XFSR, FSU’s student-run intranet radio station. We’re also home to NPR-affiliate 91.9 WFWM.

•  Real-world experiences
  As an emerging media major, you'll complete a practicum or internship in which you'll take what you learn in the classroom and apply it in a real-world organization. Not only does this boost your résumé with hands-on experience, but you'll learn from people already in the field.

  You’ll be adaptable with a degree in media studies.
