Television Studio
The state-of-the-art television studio is equipped with 4 Hitachi X-High-Definition 5000 cameras, a Sony BRCZ700 Remote Controlled Grid Camera, 3 LCD Autoscript teleprompters, and a Ross Carbonite 2 Studio production switcher with 2 channels of Ross Blackstorm outputs and a 2-channel Ross TRIA Playback server. The studio also features LED and fluorescent lighting.
For audio control, we use a Logitek Jet Stream Mini with a Logitek Board. We have 5 wireless and 10 wired microphone systems. Digi-Cart and Instant Replay machines supplement sound effects and other audio sources for the studio.
The studio has remote capabilities that allow cameras to be placed in three different areas within the Gira Center, including the Multi-Media Learning Center (first floor), a 150-person banquet room (third floor), and the roof of the building. Skype guests can also be brought in for interviews.
Post-Production Facilities
The Emerging Media program has a 28-seat audio/video editing lab running Adobe Creative Cloud, 8 separate editing suites, and a podcasting studio. These facilities are tied into a 350 Terabyte EditShare video server and storage system.
The Equipment Room
Work study students supervise the equipment room and check out a variety of equipment such as video cameras, lights, tripods, and microphones. Equipment is available for students enrolled in Emerging Media production courses only.
