NPHC (The National Pan-Hellenic Council, Incorporated)

The stated purpose and mission of the organization in 1930 was "Unanimity of thought and action as far as possible in the conduct of Greek letter collegiate fraternities and sororities, and to consider problems of mutual interest to its member organization." In early 1937, the organization was incorporated under the laws of the State of Illinois and became known as "The National Pan-Hellenic Council, Incorporated."  The purpose of the collegiate chapters of NPHC shall be to foster cooperative actions of its members in dealing with matters of mutual concern. The chapters facilitate leadership opportunities, educational programming, and training for its chapter members.

Its mission is to develop leaders, promote brotherhood and academic excellence, while providing service and advocacy for our communities.

Zeta Phi Beta Sorority encourages the highest standards of scholastic achievement and fosters a greater sense of unity among its members. These women believed that sorority elitism and socializing overshadowed the real mission for progressive organizations. Since its founding, Zeta Phi Beta has historically focused on addressing social causes.
