Clear Information.
You can ask for explanations about your diagnosis, treatment, and what to expect — in language you understand.
Informed Choices.
You get the information you need to make decisions about your care and to give informed consent.
The Right to Say No.
You may refuse treatment (unless the law requires it) and be told the possible outcomes.
Privacy and Confidentiality.
Your medical records are confidential and only shared with your written permission, in emergencies, or when legally required.
Know Your Care Team.
You may ask who is treating you and what their credentials are.
See Your Records.
You can review your medical records kept by the Student Health Center.
Change Providers.
If another qualified provider is available, you may request to switch.
Share Concerns.
You may voice complaints directly to staff or through the Student Health Center website.
Advance Directives.
You can request information about Advance Directives and have yours honored.
Your Responsibilities as a Patient
Be Accurate and Honest.
Share complete information about your health history, medications, allergies, and anything that impacts your care.
Ask Questions.
If something is unclear about your diagnosis or instructions, ask — it’s your health, and you should understand it.
Follow Your Care Plan.
Please follow the treatment plan and participate in your care.
Provide Needed Information.
Give the personal details needed to keep your medical file up to date.
Cover Your Charges.
Be prepared to pay any charges incurred at the Student Health Center or at outside facilities.
Be Respectful.
Treat staff and other patients with respect and follow posted health center rules.
