A reminder to please join us at 6:00 for the ribbon cutting ceremony this evening at the Brownsville Residential Hall. Following the ceremony, we will meet in CCIT 397 at 6:30 p.m. for a racial healing program, a campus conversation to bring campus and community members together.

Considering LGBTQ+ Youth and the Effects of Bullying
In this informational session, Talatha will present on the different types of bullying and the short and long-term effects that these experiences can have on an individual. LGBTQ+ experiences are highlighted, but the concepts apply to all. There will also be time for questions and answers from the audience.

Frostburg State University’s Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (ODEI) will host “#BobcatsAgainstBias: A Week of Celebrating Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion” the week of Friday, April 1 through Friday, April 8. Each day will have a different theme, and events, workshops and information will be offered throughout.

Black History is American History
On the final day of Black History Month, Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion highlights ways to continue to educate peers on Black history outside of just Black History Month. There will be a display of affinity groups and student organizations that are known to be safe spaces for Black students on campus. Motivational speaker, Jordan Green-Ellis, will also hold a discussion with students.

This President’s Day event will outline the progression of Black people in the U. S. from enslavement to the present day. Included will be power moves within the Black community, celebrating the first Black doctors, politicians, dancers, educators, cooks and more.

Dr. Charles R. Drew Knowledge Bowl
Frostburg State, along with Howard University, Morgan State and Hampton University, is invited to take part in the Dr. Charles R. Drew Knowledge Bowl, a Black History Month Program of the Dr. Edna Mckenzie Branch of ASALH. A virtual event, teams of three students will represent their school in the KNOWLEDGE BOWL. Questions will be based on basic and general Black History.
