Canvas
Canvas is the online learning platform that connects you to your courses, professors, and classmates. It’s one of the most important tools for your success—so checking it every day is essential.
Within Canvas, you’ll find everything you need to stay on track: your syllabus, announcements, homework, modules, videos, class materials, grades, and more. Becoming familiar with the layout and features will make your academic experience smoother and more organized.

At Frostburg State University, we provide students with a full suite of digital tools to help you learn, collaborate, and stay connected. From virtual classes to file storage and group projects, these platforms make it easier to succeed both inside and outside the classroom.
Some of the key tools you’ll use include:
- Webex – for video conferencing, virtual classes, and online meetings.
- Microsoft OneDrive – secure cloud storage that lets you access and share your files anywhere.

Immunizations & Medical Forms
All Frostburg State University students must submit their medical and immunization forms. If you were unable to receive certain immunizations in your home country, you’ll be required to get them in the U.S. at your own expense.

All HUTB students at Frostburg State University are required to have health insurance that meets FSU requirements.
FSU Group Health Insurance Plan
The Center for International Education (CIE) subscribes to a group health insurance plan that provides comprehensive coverage, the cost of which is already covered in the total HUTB students pay to FSU.
- Students are enrolled in health insurance coverage for the semesters and break periods when they attend FSU.
- Coverage must begin on the day you arrive in the United States.
Coverage Requirements
To meet FSU and federal standards, your health insurance policy must include:
- Per injury or sickness: Up to $150,000
- Repatriation of remains: Up to $100,000
- Medical evacuation: Up to $150,000 (lifetime)
- No exclusions for activities related to the exchange visitor program
- Coverage purchased from a U.S. health insurance company with an A.M. Best rating of “A-” or higher
