GOAL 1: Increase enrollments and success rates in all CAHSBS programs year-over-year (“Student Enrollment and Success”)

Strategy A: Implement program-level recruitment practices that generate enrollment growth and student success initiatives that promote retention and graduation

Strategy B: Conduct annual reviews of all college programs based on key performance indicators, including enrollment and success rates, and implement improvement measures as needed

Strategy C: Identify and initiate new academic programs that are responsive to student interest and societal need


GOAL 2: Persuasively convey the significance of the liberal and creative arts to careers and life in the 21st century (“Visibility and Value”)

Strategy A: Celebrate and publicize college activities and faculty, staff, and student accomplishments

Strategy B: Promote a distinctively liberal arts approach to career preparation for students

Strategy C: Establish the college as the academic center for civic education and engagement

Strategy D: Establish the college as the regional center for cultural engagement and the university as an arts destination


GOAL 3: Establish a vibrant community of scholars and artists who engage in meaningful interactions in and out of the classroom and on and off the campus (“Community”)

Strategy A: Expand opportunities for students to participate in research, creative projects, and community engagement

Strategy B: Expand opportunities for faculty and staff development, including scholarly and creative achievement, pedagogical growth, and training in academic leadership and management

Strategy C: Strengthen alumni connections to serve as a resource for lifelong learning

Strategy D: Strengthen and expand regional and state-wide partnerships


GOAL 4: Acquire and steward the resources required to advance the college’s mission (“Resources”)

Strategy A: Implement an improved budget planning process that aligns fiscal resources with the college’s strategic priorities

Strategy B: Identify and act on opportunities to increase operational efficiency

Strategy C: Amplify efforts to obtain external funding through grants and philanthropy
