College of Arts, Humanities, and Social & Behavioral Sciences Scholarships

Dr. Joan DeVee Dixon and Dr. Alvin C. Broyles Presidential Merit Scholarship

Applicants must be accepted or enrolled full-time at FSU pursuing a degree in a major identified as a STEM program (science, technology, engineering, math). Applicant(s)/recipient will be a well-rounded student with demonstrated active involvement in the arts at FSU (visual, performing, literary) beyond the students' core curriculum requirements. The recipient(s) must have an overall GPA of at least 3.5. Applicants must have demonstrated financial need. Need is determined by applicants' completion of a current FAFSA form which must be submitted by published financial aid deadlines.

Thelma Shockley Scholarship

The intent of the Thelma Shockley Scholarship is to support a student with demonstrated ability in the performing arts. Applicants must be enrolled full-time at FSU with a declared major or minor in the Departments of Music and/or Theatre and Dance. The recipient(s) must have an FSU overall grade point average of 3.0 or better. A preference will be given to renewal applicants. The award may be received for two consecutive years. In the event of equally qualified applicants, a preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated academic ability.

Sandra K. Saville Presidential Merit Scholarship for the Arts

Applicants must be enrolled full-time majoring in the performing or visual arts.  The recipient(s) are required to have an overall grade point average of at least 3.5, strong academic achievement in high school as evidenced by class rank, and SAT scores in the upper quartile.  Transfer students must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5.
