As a theatre or dance student, you'll spend A LOT of time at the Pealer Performing Arts Center! Affectionately called the PAC, numerous successful alumni have called this their second home while at Frostburg State University, and we suspect you will, too!
Pealer Performing Arts Center
Built in 1992, this amazing venue has 4 performing spaces, a full costume shop, Scene Shop, dedicated design and rehearsal spaces, an acoustically tunable Recital Hall, a proscenium theater with a trapped stage floor and moveable orchestra pit, a black box theater, and light lab.
Drama Theatre
Home to several productions each year, including the dance concert, the drama theatre is an traditional proscenium theater with seating for 300. It boasts a full fly rail system, dedicated electrics, a trapped stage floor and moveable orchestra pit which can be converted to extra seating when not in use.
Recital Hall
Hosting multiple events each year, Pealer's Recital Hall has 458 seats and is acoustically tunable onstage and in the house.
Studio Theater
The Studio Theater is a black box theater with flexible seating arrangements -- supporting seating in the round, proscenium, tennis court, ¾ thrust and other staging possibilities with modular risers.
Scene Shop
Our spacious, 2-story construction shop has the resources you need to think big when it comes to set design. The scene shop is 44 by 74, plus a second floor over part of the deck with storage with large movable paint frame, a sprung wood floor, and steel welding area.
Costume Shop
The costume shop is often the social center of the department! It boasts state-of-the-art equipment for dying, creating new and maintaining costumes pulled from the departments extensive stock.
Dressing Rooms
Modern dressing rooms featuring individual spaces with lighted mirrors, showers, lockers, dressing areas and full bathrooms.
Rehearsal Studio
Used almost exclusively for student classes and rehearsals, the rehearsal studio has a sprung wood floor with lighting grid, rehearsal props and staging.
