Each year, the Lewis J. Ort Library in partnership with the Office of Civic Engagement & the J. Glenn Beall Institute for Public Affairs celebrates Constitution Day. Activities include interactive displays in the Library, guest speakers, and free pocket constitutions. Join us as we celebrate the formation and signing of the U.S. Constitution by thirty-nine brave men on September 17, 1787, recognizing all who, are born in the U.S. or by naturalization, have become citizens. National Voter Registration Day brings Americans together over our mutual love of democracy — or so we hope. The day falls on the fourth Tuesday of September every year. If you’re already registered to vote, make sure your information is current with the registrar’s office.
September 30 - October 4, 2024
National Voter Education Week (NVEW) helps voters bridge the gap between registering to vote and actually casting a ballot. During this week of interactive education, voters have the opportunity to find their polling location, understand their ballot, make a plan to vote in person or remotely, and more. NVEW strives to help voters overcome common barriers to become confident voters and ambassadors of voting in their own communities for every election.

Most voters can cast their ballot prior to Election Day. Vote Early Day makes that process easier by helping all eligible voters understand their voting options while celebrating the act of voting early.
