Frostburg's Annual Block Party

Join us for the annual Frostburg Block Party.  Meet local store owners, play games, giveaways, food vendors, music, and much, much, more.  Participate in the annual hot pepper eating contest for a cash prize.  Don't feel like walking?  FSU's SafeRide program is available at the following locations from 5:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. Annapolis Hall, Edgewood, Guild Center, and Frostburg State University Police Department. Frostburg’s Beautify the ’Burg

Hosted the first Saturday in May every year, Beautify the ‘Burg is an annual event that brings students, faculty, staff, and community members together to clean up Frostburg. Volunteers can register individually or as a group to complete such tasks as planting trees, painting, and removing trash. Breakfast, lunch, and T-shirts are provided to volunteers who register for this event in advance. To register, submit the registration form below to the Office of Civic Engagement in Lane University Center 230. For more information, email civicengagement@frostburg.edu.


Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service

State Capitol Immersion Trip

Each March, the J. Glenn Beall Institute for Public Affairs and Student Engagement host a free student trip to meet state governmental officials, tour the statehouse, have lunch with the western Maryland delegation and current FSU interns, and see live debate on current state legislation. Dress is business casual. The trip is from 7:30 a.m. to approximately 9:00 p.m. Lunch is provided, but it is recommended to bring money for dinner/snacks before returning home. Thanksgiving Baskets

Through the annual Sponsor-A-Family, academic and administrative departments, student groups or individuals can help make a difference in a family’s life in Western Maryland by providing a Thanksgiving food basket to a family in need. If you, or your group, is interested in sponsoring a family for the Thanksgiving holiday or just making a donation, please contact the Paws Pantry at pawspantry@frostburg.edu.


Toys For Happiness Drive

Toys for Happiness collects new, unwrapped children’s toys to give to children in the area. Toys can be donated at the President's Holiday Reception each December. Toys are collected by the Office of Student Life in Lane University Center 231, at the Paws Pantry, for two weeks before the Reception and will be displayed at the event.
