Bachelor of Science in Nursing

Collaborative Program

Program Overview:

The Frostburg State University Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is a full time, four-year nursing program that prepares students with the knowledge and skills to take the NCLEX licensure exam, and work as a nurse in a variety of healthcare settings. Our program is in collaboration with Allegany College of Maryland Nursing program. Students will complete prerequisites, graduation requirements, and advanced nursing courses at FSU, while simultaneously completing clinical courses at Allegany College of Maryland. The program curriculum is designed to allow traditional students a practical and innovative way of achieving their BSN degree.

Delivery Format:

Students will complete coursework in a variety of formats, including in a traditional classroom and online, skill and simulation laboratories, as well as clinical rotations in a variety of settings.  While completing the majority of their course work at the FSU campus in Frostburg, Maryland, the clinical portion of the curriculum will be completed at Allegany College of Maryland, in Cumberland, Maryland.

At FSU, we care deeply about your success. In order to support you throughout your degree, FSU has a nursing mentorship program.  As part of this program, we offer job shadowing experiences, lunch and learns, tutoring, team building with your fellow classmates, living learning community, and support from a nursing faculty member throughout your degree. Many of our current students feel that these mentoring experiences have improved their success in their nursing program.
