Chemistry and Physics Department | Chemistry and Physics came together in the fall of 2023 to create a new department in FSU's new College of Education and Health & Natural Sciences.

Chemistry Department | A recent graduate from the FSU Chemistry Department, Sabrina is now a graduate student at Penn State University being awarded a University Graduate Fellowship and the prestigious Walker Fellowship, so she can devote her time to composite fiber research.

Chemistry Department | Brandi is a recent graduate from the Biochemistry Concentration, and is entering a PhD program at WVU. While at FSU, Brandi presented her research at two regional conferences: Allegheny-Erie Society of Toxicology Regional Chapter and the Middle Atlantic Regional Meeting of the ACS. She also attended the national Gamma Sigma Epsilon Honor Society convention.

In this collaborative 3 + 3 partnership, the University of Maryland Eastern Shore and Frostburg State University have formed a new academic partnership offering students an accelerated track to becoming pharmacists in six years.

Symbolic Mathematics for Chemists offers students of chemistry a guide to Maxima, a popular open source symbolic mathematics engine that can be used to solve problems, build models, analyze data, and explore fundamental chemistry concepts.

This study is designed to determine if sitagliptin (an active ingredient in the listed medications) is present in breast milk of those who are taking the medications.

Physics | Dr. Jason Speights, director of Frostburg State University’s Multimedia Learning Center and Planetarium and assistant professor of physics, has been awarded the Regents’ Faculty Award for Excellence in Mentoring, the highest honor that the University of Maryland Board of Regents bestows to recognize exemplary faculty achievement. He was honored at the April 20, 2018 meeting of the board.
