BURG Alert Message Updates

Update: October 10, 2022 | 2:45 p.m.

In the early morning hours of October 8, 2022, police responded to a shots fired call at 70 Bowery St. Frostburg, Maryland where a large party was being held. Officers located one non-FSU student victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim is hospitalized and is in critical condition with life threating injuries.

Incidents like this often seem to occur later in the night and early morning hours fueled by alcohol and/or drugs. The university would like to remind students to make healthy life choices and good decisions when going out on the weekends.
