Dining Services
Frostburg State University's Dining Services has the flexibility to meet any catering and dining need - from simple coffee breaks to full-course formal banquets, BBQs, and special events.
Special Catering
The University's Catering Services has the flexibility and experience to present catered events tailored to fit your group's occasion and operating budget. More information about our offerings is available on the FSU Catering Services site.
Please note: Whenever a catered event is booked in place of a standard cafeteria meal (e.g., an awards banquet, special luncheon, etc.), the per-diem rate for cafeteria meals will remain constant unless arranged otherwise and with agreement by all parties in advance.
Cafeteria Service
All regularly scheduled meals (i.e., those provided outside of banquets or other special catered events) will be served in Chesapeake Hall, the University's dining facility. Cafeteria-style service will be based on an "unlimited seconds" policy and will typically include, at a minimum, the following:
Breakfast
- One Grill Item (Pancakes, Waffles, etc.)
- Potato Item
- Egg Item
- Pastries/Doughnuts
- Fruit
- Cereal
- Beverages (includes juices, tea, coffee, milk)
- Breakfast Meat
Lunch/Dinner
- Main Entree (Lunch, heavy sandwich; Dinner, meat, meat/pasta item, etc.)
- Two Vegetables
- Soup
- Full-service Salad Bar
- Deli Bar
- Two Desserts
- Beverages
Meals will be served based on a two-week cycle; these menus are available at the Westminster Hall desk. A wide variety of special dietary needs can be accommodated. We have an opportunity for families to meet with dining staff on the first day of camp, or it's arranged in advance.
Dining Hall Policies
At check-in, the University will provide each delegate with an FSU conference meal card. These cards will be used at each regularly scheduled meal at Chesapeake Hall. When presented to the checker at the entrance, the cards activate a scanning mechanism attached to a computer, which verifies the card's status. Meal cards remain the property of the University and should be surrendered at check-out. Any card lost or not returned carries a replacement charge of $10.00. All delegates who have purchased a meal program must have their card to gain admittance to a regularly scheduled meal in the dining hall.
Cash sales (i.e., delegates who have not purchased a board plan but wish to purchase individual meals) will be available at all regularly scheduled cafeteria meals (no cash sales at special banquets). However, please be aware that individual rates will be at a greater cost; therefore, we urge you to use a board package plan as much as possible.
Please be aware that if there is more than one conference on campus, the dining hall facilities will be shared, and we will establish common dining hours to maximize our level of service to your delegates.
When planning meeting schedules, please note the following basic meal hours for the Cafeteria during our summer conference season:
- Breakfast: 7:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.
- Lunch: 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
- Dinner: 4:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.
Each group has a set time for the best service for all. Depending on the size of the conference delegation, hours can be adjusted. The University reserves the right to shorten the standard meal hours and/or change the serving location for smaller groups.
