Student Government Association Event Funding

SGA also offers event funding to recognized student organizations. To be considered for event funding, you must fill out the SGA Event Funding Form, found on the SGA's page on Bobcat Connect. All event funding requests must be submitted AT LEAST 3 WEEKS PRIOR to your event. When you submit your request on Bobcat Connect, you will receive an email advising you of the time/date of your Senate Finance Hearing and the SGA Meeting when your request will be voted on. Your request will not be approved until your organization has met with the Senate Finance Committee and the SGA Senate has voted on the recommendations of the Finance Committee.

Volunteer for Saferide

The Saferide program, an initiative of the Student Government Association, offers a safe alternative to the students of Frostburg State University on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings. Saferide, a student-operated program, is free to all students. It offers various employment opportunities to the students of FSU as well as offers FSU-recognized organizations the opportunity to earn some money by volunteering for the program.

For more information, contact the Student Government Association.

Residence Hall Association Funding

Funding is an integral part of holding an event, and the Residence Hall Association (RHA) is always willing to help fund events that benefit residential students. To request funding from RHA, you must complete the Funding Packet form at least 21 days before your event; the Funding Packet can be found on the Residence Hall Association Bobcat Connect page. Please note that the maximum amount that can be requested per event is $500 and that RHA will only fund events that specifically benefit residential students. RHA's focus is on students living in the residence halls, so Funding Packets should clearly explain how the event benefits on-campus students.

After the Funding Packet is received, it will be reviewed by the RHA Executive Board. If the Executive Board agrees that the Funding Request is complete and meets the above criteria, the Funding Packet will be sent to RHA's General Body. A representative for the organization requesting funds will be invited to attend an RHA General Body meeting and be asked to give a brief presentation about the event. The General Body will then vote on whether or not they want to fund the event.

Traditional Fundraising

Traditional fundraising options for Recognized Student Organizations include bake sales and related activities.
